How Do I Close My Brand Account?

Important: Closing an account is an irreversible action. None of the data will be retrievable once the account is deactivated.

To close an account, all partnership contracts must be expired and all overdue and pending payments must be cleared from your account. An account can only be closed after the last action locking date passes. After your account is cleared, create a support ticket and request the deactivation and closure of the account.

Step 1: Expire all your active contracts

Expire all active contracts before you create a support ticket to close your account.

  1. From the left navigation menu, select Partners → Partners.

  2. Select check-square-solid__2_.svg [Checked box] next to the partner(s) you want to expire, then select Contract → Expire.

  3. On the Expire screen, configure the options, then select Expire.

  4. Read the warning prompt carefully, then select I understand, continue to expire the partner's contract.

Step 2: Confirm that all of your financial obligations are settled

Similar to contracts, your account must not have any overdue or pending payments nor can it have any funds that will become available or are overdue. impact.com will review the account before deactivation to ensure that no partner fees or any other fees are outstanding and that the balance is zero. If there is a remainder amount after all payments have been cleared, the difference will be refunded to you.

You can head over to the Overview Dashboard to ensure all funds have been withdrawn. Once you confirm the funds are withdrawn, head over to the pending payouts screen to double-check that no overdue payments are pending.

Step 3: Delete all product catalogs

  1. From the left navigation bar, select engage-icon__v69b8313.svg [Engage] → Content → Products → Product Catalogs.

  2. In the Actions column at the end of the table, select the caret-down-solid.svg [Drop-down menu] → Delete.

Step 4: Close the account

Once you have taken the necessary steps, you can submit a ticket or contact support to get the account closed. impact.com will do a final review of the account too before deactivating it. Remember, closing an account is irreversible so be sure you won't need the account anymore before submitting a request to close the account.

What happens with my partner contracts after the closure of my account?

When impact.com closes down your brand account, all your partner contracts are expired, and any actions from the date of closure onward are rejected.

What happens with links after the closure of my account?

If an expired partner has any links still up anywhere, and a customer clicks on that link, they should receive an error stating the link is expired or should be directed to a dead page. If by chance the link is still active, no crediting or tracking will take place and the actions will be rejected.
