It's possible to have multiple verification options enabled for your account. When this is the case, you can choose which method to use as the default.
In the lower-left corner of the impact.com platform, select [User Profile] → Edit Profile.
Scroll down to your Security settings and select the [Drop-down menu] under Default Verification Method.
-
Select your preferred verification method.
The drop-down menu will only show the verification options that have been enabled.
The method you set as default will trigger for future sign-ins.
It is important to note that Accounts and Users can enable 2FA independently. When 2FA is configured on the Account level, the settings will apply to all users (members) listed on that account.
Let's look at the scenario of Acme Inc., which has two user accounts (members) — Carrie Oakey & Dinah Soares.
- Account-level 2FA:
In this example, 2FA is enabled for the Acme Inc. account. The settings apply to both Carrie & Dinah, and using 2FA becomes a requirement instead of an option.
- User-level 2FA:
In this example, Acme Inc. has not set up 2FA authentication for its account. However, Carrie decided to activate it on their own member account. Since it isn’t enforced at the account level, only Carrie will have 2FA when signing in. Dinah will not.
