Data Feeds are automated, scheduled files that can report information about new or newly updated assets you have access to host. If you have a data feed set up and a trigger event occurs (i.e., your partnered brand uploading or updating an asset), impact.com will add that information to the next batch file you receive.
Asset update data feeds work by sending you files at regular intervals (set by you) that contain information on new and newly updated changed assets available for you to host. For example, an asset that was recently changed by your partnered brand would be included in your data feed, but asset that have not changed since the last time the data feed file was generated would not.
You are provided with 2 ways to get your data feed file.
Partner FTP: impact.com will send the file via FTP to the server URL you provide during setup. You will need to provide the following information if you want to receive data feed files: the FTP server Directory and Port as well as a Username and Password that impact.com can use to deliver the file.
Email: impact.com will send the file as an attachment to the email address you provide during setup. From there, you can transform, archive, operationalize, or otherwise interact with the data as you see fit.
The level of security you have access to when transferring files is dependent on which delivery method you choose:
