A violation occurs when a partner violates your established monitoring policies, like promoting an expired code, bidding on unauthorized branded keywords or trademarks, or placing an ad that could harm your brand’s reputation. You can notify the partner in impact.com to remove a specific listing when a violation occurs.
Access and view all violations
After you’ve logged a violation, you can add and respond to comments, add more attachments, or change the status of the violation.
From the left navigation menu, select [Protect] → Violations.
The Violations screen shows an aggregated list of all violation types. Refer to the Violations filter reference table below if you want to use filters to search for specific violations.

The unique system-generated identifier for this violation.
Reported on
The specific date range when the violation was reported.
Policy
The name of the policy that triggered this violation.
Property
The URL hosting the violating property.
Partner
The specific partner involved in the violation.
Keywords / Promo code
The keyword or promo code that triggered the violation.
Issue
The specific reason why the violation got flagged according to your policy.
Status
The current status of the violation.
Learn how to change a violation's status.
Severity
The severity of the violation.
Hover over a specific violation and select Edit.
From here you can learn more about the property involved in the violation and edit the details of the violation you created previously. Refer to the Violation information reference table below for more information.

Error

Error reason
The error reason logged with the violation.
Severity
The severity level of the violation — consider resolving more severe violations rapidly.
Due date
The date by which the partner must resolve the violation.
Attachments
Optionally, select Choose File or drag and drop a file relevant to the violation, e.g., a screenshot of the webpage.
Comments
Use the text field to add comments about a violation. Partners will be notified of any public comments as soon as you save the comment.
Public: all parties (i.e., the partner, you, and other account members) will be able to see it.
Private: only you and your other account members (not the partner) can see it.
You can change the status of a violation should there be any updates to it. For example, you can change the violation’s status from New to In Progress.
Once the violation’s status is updated and saved, an email and platform notification will be sent to the partner informing them of the updated status.
From the left navigation menu, select [Protect] → Violations.
On the Violations screen, find the violation that you want to update, hover your cursor over the violation and select Edit.
In the Violation Information section, find the Status drop-down menu and select the applicable status. See the reference table below for further status information.

New
This status best suits violations that have not yet been tended to or addressed with the partner.
In Progress
This status best suits violations that have been communicated to the partner and are awaiting further actions to take place.
Blocked
This status best suits violations that are blocked from further action. This could be due to ongoing negotiations with the partner or something preventing the violation from being addressed.
Completed
This status best suits violations that have been addressed by the partner and can be marked as resolved.
Approved
This status best suits violations that you want to approve if you feel they aren't contravening your policy.
Quality Assurance
This status best suits violations that have been addressed by the partner and are awaiting further quality checks before being approved or completed.
Rejected
This status best suits violations that fail to meet the policy requests and therefore are not approved or accepted.
Invalid
This status best suits violations that do not fit your current policies or are related to partners you no longer work with.
Select Save Violation.
