Revenue metrics

You can now view revenue-related stats for participants directly within Partner Discovery and on the Participants page (top-right panel with analytics metrics). These insights help you better understand the business value of your customer advocates, especially when deciding who to invite into your program.

Note: Revenue metrics are based on standardized event formats from impact.com. If your brand tracks revenue using custom or non-standard event types, those may not be reflected in these metrics.

These revenue metrics are available as additional columns in the Partner Discovery table and are calculated as follows:

Type of revenue

Description

Participant Revenue

The sum of all purchases made by a participant.

Referred Revenue

The sum of all purchases made directly from an Advocate's referral.

Influenced Revenue

The sum of all purchases made by an Advocate's referred friends.

Example

How Participant, Referred, and Influenced Revenue are calculated

Let’s say user A refers user B and user C to your program.

  • Step 1 – First Level of Referrals:

    User A makes a purchase of $1,000

User B makes a purchase of $200 → this purchase converts the referral

User C makes a purchase of $300 → this purchase converts the referral

  • Step 2 – Second Level of Referrals

User B makes another purchase of $1,000

User C makes another purchase of $500

Metric

What it means

Calculation

Total

Participant Revenue

Purchases made by the original advocate (User A).

$1000

$1000

Referred Revenue

Purchases made by referred users that directly converted the referral.

$200 (B’s first purchase) + $300 (C’s first purchase)

$500

Influenced Revenue

The total of all purchases made by referred users (purchases that converted the referral followed by any additional purchases after).

$200 + $1000 (B) + $300 + $500 (C)

$2000

These insights give brands more context when evaluating advocates for program prospecting.

Note: Revenue metrics are based on standardized event formats from impact.com. If your brand tracks revenue using custom or non-standard event types, those may not be reflected in these metrics.

Where to find revenue data

Revenue columns are always visible in the Partner Discovery table and the Participants page, regardless of whether the participant has generated revenue. You’ll see these alongside existing stats like referrals, share link clicks, and social properties (when available).

Note: Revenue metrics are based on standardized event formats from impact.com. If your brand tracks revenue using custom or non-standard event types, those may not be reflected in these metrics.

Invite affiliates and creators to your Performance or Creator program

If the person you want to invite is already a partner or a creator with an impact.com account, you can add them as a prospect to your Performance or Creator program.

When you add someone as a prospect, they will appear under the Prospects tab within your relevant program. This does not automatically invite them to your program, instead, it creates a list of potential partners that you want to monitor or invite in the future.

  1. In the left navigation menu, select Partner Discovery.

  2. Set your Type filter to Creator or Affiliate.

  3. Hover your cursor over the name of the person you want to invite and select Add Prospect.

    • If you see Prospect in Another Program it means they’ve already been prospected by you, and you can choose to prospect them into another program of yours. You can also select Manage Prospect to navigate directly to the Prospects page of the relevant program.

  4. From the dropdown list, select the program you want to invite them to, then select Add Prospect again to confirm your action.

    • A window will pop up informing you that your prospect has been added to your Prospects list in your relevant program.

  5. Select Manage Prospects to navigate to your Prospects list or select Continue Browsing to look for other prospects using Partner Discovery.

Invite customers to impact.com

If the person you want to invite doesn’t have a partner or creator account with impact.com, then your invitation will be to both the impact.com platform and your Performance or Creator program. These prospects may require some additional information about what a partnership program is, and your email to them should address the purpose of your program.

  1. In the left navigation menu, select Partner Discovery.

  2. Set your Type filter to Customer.

  3. Hover your cursor over the name of the person you want to invite, then select Invite to impact.com.

    AA305FE0-B37A-45F2-B6FA-88FEBBAD1033.jpeg
  4. From the drop-down list, select the program to which you want to invite this participant.

  5. Select Invite.

    • You will be prompted to send an email to the participant via your desktop email client.

  6. Revise the example text with a personalized invitation to the customer advocate.

    • The default copy contains a generic invitation and your branded partner sign-up link. Because the participant may not be familiar with affiliate or creator partnerships, you may wish to add more detail about your program and why it's a benefit for them to join.

  7. When you're ready, send the email.

    • Once the participant completes sign-up, they become an impact.com partner and will appear in your Applications section, where you can approve or reject them.

    • If the participant rejects the proposal, they will not appear in the Applications section. In both cases—whether they sign up or reject the proposal—their Relationship Stage will update in the Partner Discovery view.

Partner Discovery FAQ

Should I allow customer advocates who become partners to keep making referrals through Advocate?

To avoid double compensation, we recommend that you prevent them from making future referrals through your Advocate program. Advocates who upgrade to your Performance or Creator programs will begin earning rewards and payouts like your other affiliates and influencers. Contact our support team if you need assistance with stopping future referrals.

How can I determine if a recommended participant is the right fit?

There are a variety of factors that can make a participant a good prospective partner. You may want to consider:

  • The quantity of their referrals and share link clicks. These metrics can give you insights into the size and quality of the participant's audience.

  • Whether they're already a partner. If your participant is already active in a Performance or Creator program, they're familiar with the affiliate model and can get up to speed on your program details more quickly.

  • Your business goals. For example, you have 2 recommended participants who live in a region in which your brand wants to establish a larger presence. You may wish to recruit these participants into a more formal partnership so that they can help you grow your brand in that region.

I have multiple impact.com programs. How do I add the prospect to more than 1?

Participants can only be invited to 1 program at a time. If you feel they would be a good match for more than 1 program, then you can repeat the process above to send an invitation to an additional program.
