Review Pending Referrals for Advocate

When you have turned on Fraud Protection with the Moderate setting, your Advocate program will flag and place into a pending state any referrals with a medium fraud score. Pending referrals must be manually approved or denied.

You can review and assess pending referrals from the referral feed or within individual participant profiles.

Referrals are only placed into a pending state after you turn on Fraud Protection for your Advocate account.

  1. In the left navigation bar, select ellipsis-v-solid.svg [Menu] → Settings.

  2. From the Advocate Settings section, select Security.

  3. Select toggle-on-solid.svg [Toggle on] Automatic fraud detection.

Review pending referrals in the referral feed

Your referral feed displays a list of all referrals and their statuses. You can filter the feed to see only pending referrals that need your review.

  1. From the left navigation menu, select Reporting → Referral Feed.

  2. Change the view to pending referrals by selecting Pending Review from the first dropdown menu.

  3. Hover your cursor over the referral you want to review and select Review to open the review panel.

    • The review panel contains both participants’ information and a list of the reasons why the referral was flagged. You can decide whether you want to allow or deny it.

  4. Select Approve or Deny.

  5. Review the effects of this decision and select Approve Referral or Deny Referral to confirm your choice.

Review pending referrals on a participant’s profile

If you already know which participant has a pending referral, you can review it directly within their profile.

  1. From the left navigation menu, select Participants.

  2. In the search bar, type the name of the participant whose referrals you want to review.

  3. Select their name to open their participant profile.

  4. In the Referrals table on their profile, hover your cursor over the pending referral and select Review.

    • The review panel contains both participants’ information and a list of the reasons why the referral was flagged. You can decide whether you want to approve or deny it.

  6. Review the effects of this decision and select Approve Referral or Deny Referral to confirm your choice.

Reverse an automated approval or denial

Depending on your Fraud Protection settings, Advocate will automatically approve referrals with a low or medium fraud score and deny referrals with a high fraud score. You can reverse any automated decision manually if needed.

  1. From the referral feed or the participant’s profile, find the automatically-processed referral that you want to reverse.

  2. Hover your cursor over the referral and select Review to open the review panel.

  3. Select Approve Referral or Deny Referral.

  4. Review the effects of this decision and select Approve Referral or Deny Referral to confirm your choice.
