If you want to receive updates regarding actions you drove as files via FTP or via email, you can Set Up Action Data Feeds to receive those notifications.
Data Feeds are automated, scheduled files that can report information about actions you drove. If you have a data feed set up and a trigger event occurs (like your partnered brand modifying an action you drove), impact.com will add that information to the next batch file you receive.
Action data feeds work by sending you files at regular intervals (set by you) that contain information on "non-standard" action events. Non-standard events are events that do not have established dates or time periods in your contract. For example, an action's locking date is a standard, or predictable, event as the action locking period is outlined in your contract. An action getting modified, however, is a non-standard event since no time range or set dates exist in your contract for this event, making it non-standard (or unpredictable).
Here are some examples of non-standard lifecycle events. These would be included in your data feed file.
An action you drove is tracked by or reported to impact.com
An action you drove is modified by your partnered brand
An action you drove is reversed by your partnered brand
Here are some examples of standard action lifecycle events. These would not be included in your data feed file.
An action you drove locks (i.e., can no longer be modified or reversed)
An action you drove is paid out to your account
You are provided 3 ways to get your data feed file.
FTP: Your system will retrieve the file from impact.com's FTP server. If you select this option, you will need impact.com's server URL (
ftp://data.impact.com) and your impact.com-generated username and password to access your server. Your credentials will be provided to your on the Data Feeds screen after you finish your setup.Partner FTP: impact.com will send the file via FTP to the server URL you provide during setup. You will need to provide the following information if you want to receive data feed files this way: the FTP server URL, server Directory and Port as well as a Username and Password that impact.com can use to deliver the file.
Email: impact.com will send the file as an attachment to the email address you provide during setup. From there, you can transform, archive, operationalize, or otherwise interact with the data as you see fit.
The level of security you have access to when transferring files is dependent on which delivery method you choose.
